The first camping trip of the year is should always be this good! Good friends, hot weather and loads of fun.
We camped with the DenBlykers at their fishing site on the Ninilchik beach. On Saturday, July 4th we headed to Halibut Cove to hang out with the Kellers. We headed back to Ninilchik for the second night. We sat around the campfire until 1:30am enjoying good conversation and lots of laughs. I love Alaska!
The sky as we set up our tent at 2am.
Morning coffee... the most important things first.
The view while we ate breakfast.
Halibut Cove from the crows nest.
The Keller's cabin from the boat as we left.
These shots were taken around 11:30pm. Mount Redoubt is in the distance still blowing steam. The bouys were set for the next day's catch.
The view at 1am from inside the cook house.
Long exposures at 2am. Sometimes it is just hard to go to bed when you are having so much fun.
The traffic as we drove home. It added 2 hours to our drive. I guess we weren't the only ones who enjoyed our weekend on the Kenai.

I love your long exposures, Carrie, especially the rocks.
Wow, lots of pictures...I'm impressed. And all very pretty shots too! It was 111 here today, and similar temperatures are forecast into next week....but at least it's sunny!
It was good to see you again these past few weeks. I trust your Montana trip went well - I'm sure you'll have fun processing in the weeks to come ;). Well, enjoy your cool summer weather and always glad to see photos!
Beautiful shots. I'm jealous of your trip. And I agree that your morning coffee on a camping trip is very important!
Can I just say I am sooo jealous! It looked like you guys had fun and got to see some beautiful views - sigh.... - lc
Beautiful! There's nothing like a campfire, although is it the same when it's still light out? I love that smell though! Also love the great bearded one in the boat!
