Josh and Emily | Hatcher's Pass, Alaska
Josh and Emily braved some pretty frigid temperatures to get these fun images. They were great sports and laughed through everything. Emily ROCKED the awesome fur hat. You are stunning, Emily! Josh recently returned from deployment so these images are especially sweet. Thank you for your service, Josh. And thank you for being an awesome wife while your husband serves, Emily!

Julia | Eagle River
This beautiful little bundle arrived a few weeks ago. I had the pleasure of spending a little time with her. She wasn't convinced that she should sleep while I was there.
It was a pleasure to meet little Julia and her parents. What a love-filled home!

Olivia and Brian | Moose Pass, Alaska
When I was contacted by Olivia, I immediately wanted to be her best friend. Olivia and Brian found Moose Pass online and feel in love. These Georgia natives wanted to do something a little different for their destination wedding. Alaska was the perfect fit. She contacted Karla Delong of Karla Delong Weddings, and was off in a frenzy of plans for a small intimate wedding in the mountains of Alaska. Tern Lake Inn provided an awesome location and delicious catering, while Karla did an amazing job of bringing elegance to the rustic backdrop. This was a beautiful wedding for some incredible people. I will definitely be stopping by their restaurant to visit when I am in Athens.
Thanks Olivia and Brian for allowing me to be a part of your beautiful day!

I have been dreaming of these next two shots for a long time and I love how they turned out! Putting a beautiful bride in the Alaskan swamp spruce... I love it!

Aimee and Tyler's Wedding | Wasilla
When Aimee met with me and asked me to photograph her wedding, I was thrilled to be a part of such an important day in her life. The background on my cell phone has been Aimee's smiling face for years now. She and Katie put their self portrait on my phone when they were in high school. I couldn't bring myself to change it. So it was awesome be there to capture this beautiful woman and her chosen groom.
Thank you Aimee and Tyler, for the honor of being a part of your day!

Escalate 2010
I am in Newport Beach, California tonight. I came down for a photography conference with some amazing wedding and portrait photographers. The speakers are amazing and I have met some fantastic photographers from around the country, Canada, and Mexico. I listened to Dane Sanders, Becker, Jasmine Star and Julianne Kost today. I know many of you won't know who they are, but they are some pretty big names in the who's who of wedding photography... well, except for Julianne Kost. She is an Adobe Evangelist and has some serious Photoshop skills. I chatted with Becker at a book signing tonight and he wanted to see my drivers license because I was from AK. He was rather impressed that I share a birthday with Bono. Who knew?!
Tomorrow is another full day before heading to the airport. It will be fun to see what tomorrow brings.
The weather is very un-California like and that is rather disappointing. I actually walked to the conference in the rain this morning. Isn't it supposed to always be sunny in Southern California? But tomorrow I head to AZ where I am promised hot, sunny weather. I plan on having a nice tan when I go back north.
